Why Your Support Matters

Membership dues and course fees cover only 80% of our operating expenses. Your donation helps fill the gap by enabling us to:

• Compensate Our Educators: Your gift helps us attract the Berkeley faculty and other top scholars who deliver the high-quality learning you value. Last year, we spent $175,402 on speaker and guest fees.
• Expand Scholarships: Demand for our fee assistance program has tripled since 2021. Now 100+ members receive scholarships, making lifelong learning accessible to all.
• Secure Great Venues: Community-building spaces like The Freight create wonderful learning experiences, but come at a cost — $1,500 a day.
• Enable Flexible Learning: Hybrid courses — in person, livestreamed and recorded — offer unmatched flexibility. They also require extra staff and technology to make possible.

Give by Phone

You may donate by calling Gift Services at (510) 643.9789 during regular business hours. Please be sure to note that your gift is to go to the "OLLI Annual Fund." You may also set up recurring donations at that time, if you desire.

Give with Your IRA

If you are 70½ or older, you may make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to OLLI directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). You will pay no income tax and the entire amount passes to us. Learn more, as well as download a sample letter of instruction for your IRA custodian.
