Words Over Time Intergenerational Dialogues

Since 2019, OLLI @Berkeley's Words Over Time intergenerational dialogues have led age-spanning, perspective-shifting conversations between OLLI @Berkeley members and Berkeley undergraduates who gather to discuss topics of critical importance to all.

Facilitated by Berkeley professor Darren Zook, the dialogues offer invaluable opportunities to initiate civil, reflective, and meaningful conversation across the chronological divide and the social and political landscape. Topics have included the climate crisis, mental health and emotional well-being, #MeToo, how to build trust in a fractured society, and more.

After the initial meeting, members and students have the opportunity to continue the exchanges for the remainder of the semester.

Dialogues typically take place in the fall and spring.
