Over the past four years, the California 100 Initiative has focused on inspiring a vision and strategy for California’s next century that is innovative, sustainable, and equitable. The work and findings have been incubated by the University of California and Stanford.

This course spotlights California's future in four crucial areas:

  • Fostering economic growth and business success to ensure prosperity;
  • Saving the state's water and transforming its agriculture to deal with climate change;
  • Ensuring enough housing at reasonable prices to shelter its population and to reduce homelessness, and;
  • Reforming California's governance and reviving its media to make this possible while ensuring democratic accountability.

Each session will describe the challenges California faces and discuss alternative futures for the state. It will include guest speakers.
