Martin Luther King Jr.: His Life and Times

The course will explore the life and times of Martin Luther King, Jr. with special attention to the history of the Black church, King's political philosophy, competition among civil rights organizations, and the Vietnam War. His assassination and legacy will conclude the course.
Faculty Bio
Charles Henry is professor emeritus of African American Studies at UC Berkeley. He holds a doctorate in political science from the University of Chicago. He is is the author/editor of ten books and numerous articles and reviews on human rights, race and politics, and public policy.

- Classes meet in person at the Golden Bear Center, Suite 365 (3rd floor), at 1995 University Ave., Berkeley
