Miniature tales — “flash” or “micro” fiction — include everything we desire from a short story: provocative themes, complex characters, bold imagery, and plot upshots that in the best cases take our breath away. Together we’ll discuss how some of the best short-form prose writers (George Saunders, Joyce Carol Oates, Lydia Davis, Ernest Hemingway and more) artfully and concisely unveil startling insights about the human condition.
