Diversity, Identity, Social Justice: America in Global Perspective
The word “diversity” has become a central part of American political discourse, but what exactly is diversity and what benefits is it supposed to offer? The answer may seem intuitively obvious, but if it were, we wouldn’t have so much rancorous debate about this issue. This course will examine diversity in America and situate the American experience in a global perspective.
