Numerous architects, artists, and writers, such as Mark Mills, Edward Weston, and Henry Miller elected to settle in the Monterey Bay Area and contribute to their respective fields from that region. This course surveys the extraordinary, yet under-recognized, Mid-Century architectural legacy of the Monterey Peninsula in its full array of design expressions.

Pierluigi Serraino is a practicing architect, author, and educator. He holds multiple professional and research degrees in architecture from Italy and the United States. He is the author of eight books on architecture, and his work and writing have been published in professional and scholarly journals.
