Update About Our Fall Term: Letter from the Director

Dear OLLI members and friends,

The cautious optimism many of us felt just a few months ago has hit a hurdle with the rise of the Delta variant and the recommendation of booster shots to fight off waning immunity.

With the health and well-being of our members, faculty and staff top of mind, I want to share with you an update about our plans for the coming term.

We have decided NOT to hold classes in person this fall.

The courses that included the option to attend in person will continue to be offered livestreamed and recorded.

Those courses are Cybersecurity with Darren Zook; Diving into the Movies with Harry Chotiner; The Politics of "WE" with Sandra Bass; and How the U.S. Spent the Legacy of the Greatest Generation with Michael Baker.

If you've registered for one or more of those offerings, we hope you'll continue to look forward to — and participate in — the great engagement and learning you're sure to enjoy with them and with all of the other courses we have on tap.

As always, you have the option to withdraw from a course for a refund up to seven days before the start of term, which starts September 20.

While we're disappointed that we can't welcome you to in-person classes this fall, we know that smiles and hugs await. It's just a matter of time.

Warmest regards,

Susan Hoffman
Director
