We're delighted to be featured in the October issue of East Bay magazine, which devoted its cover story to the vital role of lifelong learning in maintaining long-term brain health.

The article makes the case that staying curious, challenged, and connected isn’t just enjoyable — it's vital to well-being. OLLI @Berkeley Director and Assistant Dean of Extended Learning Susan Hoffman was interviewed for the piece, noting that from the very beginning, research has supported the idea that "learning was the thing that contributed across the board to healthy aging.”

Intellectual discovery and exploration — in community — is at the heart of who we are and what we do. We're home to 2,000 insatiable learners eager to deepen their understanding of the world, and perhaps even themselves.  We are where new ideas and new friendships grow.
