[Field Trip] Women's History Tour at Mt. View Cemetery
Join us for a docent-led “Women’s History Tour” at Mt. View Cemetery. Learn about some of the famous and not-so famous women who influenced California, such as Julia Morgan, Ina Coolbrith, Sara Lemmon, Ellen Colton, and others. As we explore the Frederick Law Olmstead-designed cemetery, we’ll also learn about the women's suffrage movement which began in California in the 19th century and was successful with the passage of Proposition 4 in 1911.
We'll meet at 10:15 AM inside the cemetery gates, past the fountain, in front of the main mausoleam halfway down the main road. Rain will cancel, sadly.
Please note: The walk will take 1.5–2-hours and include some moderate hills. Sidewalks and paths are often accessible, but those with mobility devices will find paths difficult to navigate at times.
