War, Peace, Refuge, and Return
What happens when countries go to war? Why do they do so, and how do we know when war is just and when it is a crime? This is a course that will focus on understanding war and the many things related to it, including the different pathways back to peace. We will also look at what happens to people caught in between—the refugees, the stateless, and the so-called “collateral damage” of conflict and war. In addition to covering general principles we will also look at specific conflicts around the world.
