Through lectures, visual materials, and hands-on practice, we will examine the beauty and creativity of practices such as the enso, zengo work, Japanese landscape gardening, altar care, and the way of tea. Marcia Lieberman is an author, photographer, and academic. A long-term Buddhist practitioner, she has resided at all three SF Zen Centers. Lieberman’s recent teaching and studies have focused on Zen temple arts and their place in everyday Zen practice. She has taught altar care, Japanese landscape gardening, and beekeeping as devotional practices.
