Intergenerational Dialogue on Free Speech: Berkeley and Beyond

The Berkeley campus and community, like others around the country and around the world, struggle with who can say what about whom and when. How can we approach the issue of free speech in a way that allows room for debate while also cultivating civil respect? This Words Over Time (WOT) intergenerational dialogue between OLLI members and Cal undergraduates is intended to find a path forward through open conversation that is engaging, innovative, transformative, and empowering.

The gathering will be held in person only at 1995 University Ave., Suite 365, Berkeley. Professor Darren Zook will facilitate. In addition to participating in the dialogue, members are encouraged to continue the conversation with the Cal students by attending Professor Zook's class "Understanding Free Speech." Details will be shared with the registrants.

This event continues the theme of the WOT event held in February, but with new prompts and points of discussion.
