The Third Story: How to Conduct Difficult Conversations Well

The world these days is rife with challenging conversations. Disagreements about domestic politics, global affairs, who did what and when abound, creating awkward, uncomfortable, sometimes painful, sometimes fiery exchanges. What if we could skillfully conduct these conversations, whether political or personal, from a "third story" — a narrative that includes not just facts, but what those facts mean to us; not simply "what happened or should happen" but how we feel about it? Join us for the next OLLI @Berkeley Vital Aging Forum as Annette Segal shares strategies that strive not to eliminate differences, but to help make these conversations possible, and perhaps even useful.

About the Speaker
